We are thankful for the opportunity to work side-by-side as partners.

Job Workshop is an educational and training program for women in Huntington Green. Each weekly session includes a Bible-based lesson on one of the following topics: Job search and interview skills, financial literacy, or social and emotional development.

In addition, a portion of each session is devoted to making and painting pallet plaques and other inspirational wood items for sale locally and on the Internet. We also make beautiful jewelry and coaster tiles. Proceeds go back to the women artisans for their work and help support the program. Plaques can be viewed and purchased at The Marketplace in Cornelius and online.

We work one-on-one with neighbors who want to earn their GEDs through GED tutoring and a preparation course.

We gather on Thursday mornings to study the life and example of Ruth in Scripture, while getting to know each other's stories better. There is never a shortage of wisdom or laughter when we gather!

We sew curtains, pillows, dresses, pajama pants, and quilts! Some of us are beginners, some have sewn their whole lives. But we gather weekly to get out our sewing machines and create together!

We offer ESL courses (one during the day, one in the evening) so that neighbors who want to learn English have a place of community to work hard together in their language learning, regardless of their work schedule. Our kids love helping mama or dad on their homework. We want each neighbor to be welcomed and helped-- whether they are learning their first words in English or mastering their accent.
