From our first ever Huntington Green Youth Retreat together.
On Tuesday evenings, middle and high school students come to tutoring to work on homework, begin projects, study for tests, and review key math and literacy skills. We're serious about being a family together — so we hold each other accountable to our highest possible level of excellence. We've seen remarkable growth over the years, particularly in a few of our English-language-learner students.
Often called life groups, these are a core part of our ministry. The carved-out spaces in a smaller setting help students form friendships with one another, as well as with their leaders and mentors. They learn about Jesus while sharing life together. Middle school boys/girls and high school boys/girls each enjoy their own group time weekly. Soccer, crafts and snacks are important, too. We'd love to have you join us!
- Youth Retreat: In fall 2017, we took a group of middle and high schoolers away to a retreat center for their first Annual Youth Retreat. It was BEAUTIFUL. A weekend away together to play wacky games, worship Jesus, focus on our relationship with God, get to know each other better, go zip-lining, try archery, eat way too many cookies.
- Youth Fun Nights: Throughout the year, we gather for nights with no agenda other than being together and enjoying one another. We get all the food, get out a bunch of games, get a few balls out and invite all the youth group over. These events are some of our favorites.
- Summer Camp: We offer summer camp programs for our youth, as well. These look different each year, but they are intentionally fun experiences where we get out of the neighborhood, as well as studying a devotion together. Join us this summer!
